Apple provided the option to trash all emails by providing the “Trash All” buttons while deleting emails. But, this feature was removed since the launch of iOS 10 and has never been re-introduced. The removal of this feature has made it difficult to delete bulk emails in iPhone. Still, there are other ways to delete bulk emails on iPhone which I will share here.

Delete Multiple Emails on iPhone

This is the most-common way of deleting emails on iPhone. The steps are as follows:

  1. Open Mail on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Inbox
  3. Tap on “Edit” option in the upper-right corner of the phone-screen.
  4. If you want to delete all emails displayed on the screen, tap on “Select All”. Now, tap on the “Trash” option in the bottom of the phone-screen.
  5. If you want to delete selected emails, select the emails that you want to delete and then tap on “Trash” option in the bottom of the phone-screen. If you don’t see the “Trash” option, you will see the “Archive” option.
  6. If you see the “Archive” option, touch and hold the “Archive” option on the screen. You will see other options including “Trash Selected Messages”. Tap on “Trash Selected Messages” to delete your selected messages.
  7. You have completed deleting the messages and all your messages have now been moved to the Trash folder. You can go to the trash folder now and review your deleted emails. If everything is okay, tap on “Edit” option in the upper-right corner and then, tap on “Delete All” option. Your deleted items in trash folders will get deleted automatically after a certain period automatically based on your email settings even if you don’t delete all emails immediately.

Search and Delete Multiple Emails on Phone

This is another simple method in which you can search and delete emails based on your search keywords.

  1. Open Mail on your iPhone
  2. Go to Inbox
  3. Enter keyword in the Search Box. You can enter the Sender Name, Message Content, etc. to search the emails you want to delete.
  4. Search results will show up based on your search criteria in the phone-screen.
  5. Tap on “Edit” option in the upper-right corner and then, tap on “Select All” option. Now, tap on “Trash” option in the bottom of the screen.
  6. If you don’t want to delete all emails, select the emails that you want to delete and then tap on “Trash” option in the bottom of the phone-screen. If you don’t see the “Trash” option, you will see the “Archive” option.
  7. If you see the “Archive” option, touch and hold the “Archive” option on the screen. You will see other options including “Trash Selected Messages”. Tap on “Trash Selected Messages” to delete your selected messages.
  8. You have completed deleting the messages and all your messages have now been moved to the Trash folder. You can go to the trash folder now and review your deleted emails. How to delete all Emails from Folders on iPhone

If you have organized your emails in folders, it becomes really difficult to select and delete emails as the emails are stored in different folders. There is a way to delete all email from folders on iPhone with following steps:

  1. Open Mail on your iPhone.
  2. Go to the email folder which you want to delete and tap on it to open it.
  3. Tap on “Edit” option in the upper-right corner and then, tap on “Select All” option. Now, tap on “Trash” option in the bottom of the screen.
  4. If you are not interested in deleting all emails, you can select the emails you want to delete and tap on “Trash” option in the bottom of the screen. If you cannot see the “Trash” option, you will able to see the “Archive” option.
  5. In case you see the “Archive” option, touch and hold the “Archive” option on the screen. You will find other options including “Trash Selected Messages”. Tap on “Trash Selected Messages” and delete all the selected messages.
  6. Now, you can go to the trash folder now and review your deleted emails. Tap on “Edit” option in the upper-right corner and then, tap on “Delete All” option. All the deleted items in trash folders will be removed automatically after a certain period automatically based on your email settings even if you don’t delete all emails immediately.
